THE BRIEF: * For the music video we have both a narrative and a performance idea:
The first ideas is solely performance based, this shows the band playing in a studio as a group, this will include us using different shot types and angles so that we can capture different angles to make it more appealing and interesting. We will include shots like a wide shot which will show all the members in one shot and then we will use close up shots of each member using their instrument. This will be one so the audience can see the band and become accustomed to everyone in the group. With this being their first music video, it is important that the band make themselves known to their audience therefore they’ll collect a fan base furthermore plunging them into a large audience. We will be editing this footage so that it fits the indie conventions, like adding a black and white filter over the top to make the footage appear rawer and emotional.

*We're considering including a narrative as well as having sole performance scenes, due to the fact that our song 'Million Things' by The Stoops is based on the lead singer wanting to go to places and do fun activities without his significant other as they've fallen out / don't love each other anymore - therefore, we had the idea of the main singer going to work, leaving and then meeting up with his partner during a pause in the song where he breaks up with her breaking up with her, after this he goes off the rails, visiting night clubs and traveling, although we're unsure to how realistic this is since we don't have lots of money to spend / we don't know if we'll have access to these places.

*Both these ideas would create a fun and interesting video however we are veering more towards the performance idea due to it being more conventional for the indie genre and the band being more involved in the actual visuals.

TARGET AUDIENCE: *The target audience for the music video is majority men, 70% men and 30% women, because all the singers are male and are speaking on relationships from a more male perspective this attracts a male majority target audience.
The audience is aimed between 20-35+, the older audience comes from the serious relationship spoken about in the song and the restlessness of the protagonist this I think relates the best to the age category, alongside this band members are in this age bracket therefore relatable for the target audience
The target audience is more C2DE than ABC1 due to the age category, because pour production is low budget this I think will create an indie and C2DE aesthetic for the audience.

KEY MILESTONES: *It is imperative that all pre-production documents have been planned and completed so that the production phase can begin. What must be covered in pre-production are the initial planning aspects like the mood-board, mind maps and storyboard. (All pre-production (LO2) should have a maximum time of a month of completing).
The next part is ordering and sorting out days to film. It is essential to talk to The Stoops as it allows us to gain some insight as to what they expect, when we should film and other queries which could be of a concern. This part is important the most because without the footage, there is no music video. (This shouldn't take any longer than 3 days).  Editing is an essential piece of the production as it pieces together all the footage which we want and allows the music to jump to the beat. (The editing should be completed within 2 weeks).

EQUIPMENT:* we will be using a range of different equipment, we will be using 2 tripods, a dolly, 2 DSLR cameras, 2 SD cards, speakers, lighting equipment  and a stage to position the drums so that they are visible and not too low down.
All this equipment is necessary in order to achieve a music video at a professional standard.

PROPS AND MODELS:* For props and models we will be using the band as the main starring models, the props involved will be instruments that will be played by the band, because the video plot is purely performance this allows a minimal quality allowing the main focus to be the music and the talent of the musicians.

HEALTH AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:* For health and safety concerns we will complete a risk assessment prior to filming, this will include elements such as burns from hot lighting, tripping hazards over equipment and the welfare of models. By creating this planning document before the shoot, it allows preparation for hazards.

LEGAL AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS:*
copyright
Each member of the band (Philip corker, Ricki Staniland, Dale Staniland and Scott Wainwright) will sign a release and consent form, this shows that they consent to being in the video
We are going to be filming in the performance lab in Sheffield Hallam university, this is because it has a stage area, lighting set up and also a sound system therefore it would have all of the assets that we need in order to film a professional standard music video, we will be filming here for the parts of the music video that include the live performance of the band, in order to be able to film here we will need to get permission and schedule a time to be able to film there.
When filming we will ensure that therNo explicit language or imagery

FUNCTION OF MY MEDIA PRODUCT:*  The purpose of the music video is to promote the stoops and their song. By creating a music video, the purpose of this is also to entertain the target audience / the viewers.
The video is to create exposure for the indie band ‘The Stoops’, by having the band members in the video in a performance style this creates more of a brand image instead of a more narrative direction.
Another function of my video is to entertain the audience, by having entertaining elements such as different shot types and angle to keep the audience's attention span on the video during the performance shoot.

BUDGET* We want our music video to be of high quality and professionalism for our client. Therefore, we need to consider the cost of resources needed in order to produce the video. To film our video, we need hardware such as a DSLR camera (£75 a day per camera), softbox lighting (£15 a day per box), tripods (£25 a day per tripod) and other elements such as SD cards, which we already have. In total costing us around £230 for two DSLR cameras, two tripods and two softbox’s (prices found on monsoonproductservices.com). We all already have access to Adobe editing software for during post-production on our own Mac Thunderbolt 2000 computers therefore costing us nothing. The studio we're filming in has been kindly rented to us for free by Hallam Sheffield University, this comes with free lighting and studio settings. The band already have their own props and instruments - therefore we don’t need to buy any. We may also be able to borrow equipment from the media department at the UTC, overall making our required budget £0.

DISTRIBUTION: * We will be sending the finished product through email to The Stoops as this will allow them to have their music video. The music video will then be uploaded on YouTube as this will reach their target audience effectively. However, in order to make these audiences watch this video, this video will be promoted on a range of platforms like Twitter and Instagram as it will get the name out there.
LENGTH OF VIDEO: *The length of this music video will be around 3-4 minutes long. This is due to the song being this duration. There is going to be a small intro and outro which will altogether total up to being 30 seconds long.
